The 11th Annual Meeting of the Israel Analytical Chemistry Society was a major success, both professionally and socially.
The success of this event is attributable MAINLY to the active participants of the meeting – plenary speakers, speakers, poster presenters and exhibitors - and we wish to thank each and every one of you!
2. Special Corner for Announcements, Messages, Job Offers, Job Requests and Used Analytical Equipments
SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM
On day 1, for the first time, the scientific program took place in 4 parallel halls. It included 2 plenary lectures, which were presented by top USA analytical chemists, lectures and posters presented by professionals from Israel and abroad and the First Israel-Italy Bi-National Symposium on Water and Environmental Analysis.
The scientific program of Day 2 took place in 3 parallel halls. It included 2 plenary lectures, presented by top European analytical chemists, lectures and posters of best professional quality presented by professionals from Israel and abroad and a special questions and answers session, named MEET THE REGULATOR, with Dr. Nasr, Director of Office of New Drug Quality Assessment, Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER), FDA.
In total, 78 speakers and 49 poster presenters participated in the event from Israel and 15 countries around the world: Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Italy, Romania, South Africa, Taiwan, The Netherlands, UK and USA.

EXHIBITION
The exhibition was the largest analytical chemistry exhibition for 2008 in Israel.
It included all the major companies and was most interesting. Its large space enabled social and scientific communication and the relaxed atmosphere allowed new ideas to interact as well as new contacts to be made.
The David Intercontinental Hotel was a superb location for the event. Its proximity to the beach and major business and cultural centers in Tel-Aviv enabled the participants to enjoy its surroundings. The organization was excellent, with a most efficient and kind staff that took care of hundreds of people at a time with no worry.
Best Poster Awards
TheFirst Prize and a symbolic financial contribution of 3,000 NIS was granted to Feldberg Liron (presenting author), Venger Ilya, Malitski Sergey and Aharoni Asaph from the Department of Plant Sciences at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel

Two Second Prizesand symbolic financial contributions of 1500 NIS were granted to:
